GETTING STARTED

well the first steps to any great 3D dungeon crawl

CONCEPT CONCEPT CONCEPT......

We(generally speaking) all played video games ....and we played a card style games when we were younger (OR still do, don't worry I wont tell)...I played a hell of allot of games when I was young and I would stare at the background for hours looking at the 8 bit vector art and 16 bit vector art that completely add to my gaming experience. I was enthralled by the backgrounds  when I started playing PS one With it multidimensional  art work... But...Why am I bringing this up?....Well, I guess I'm giving you a point of reference. you see the trick to making a great concept is to remember the games from yesteryear and focus on which great game setting you like did you. (for instance, lets take a game like donkey kong, secret of monkey island and pirates of the Caribbean online...all had a tropical island/pirate theme...once you come up with your theme,You can further Breakdown those components that made the setting work. You start pickup tiny details from the background to make the 3D dungeon crawl... A second example is the fantasy settings, look into those games and pull out the concepts...now once you got the picture in your head, Think of what you "The Builder" would improve and make different... but before you start any project, you must come up with your Primary Concept...
